During my residency at Artspace in 2022, I made a sculptural piece with wire screen, plaster, and other found materials. I ultimately didn’t find the sculpture to be a successful piece but elements of light and shadow interacting with it intrigued me. I grabbed the camera and began taking close up photographs. I made more sculptural work to function solely as an object to be photographed. This new series is the result of that process:
Interior Logic
"Stubborn Memory" 24x36
"Against your Bones, Knowing" 24x36
"A System has a Tendency to Close Down" 24x36
"Incomplete Existence" 24x36
"A Different Fulcrum" 24x36
"Analysis Disintegrates the Whole into Parts" 24x36
"Induced Emptiness" 24x36
"Dimensions Might be Reduced" 24x36
This series continues my exploration of grief, fascia, and the body. The photographs are all framed, ready to hang, and available for purchase. Email frederikcwbell@gmail.com with inquiries.
